Thatch Close Farm B&B is currently closed until at least  April 2021,  & not currently taking reservations. May we recommend that you look at Thatch Close Cottages, our sister company to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay in Herefordshire, https://thatchclosecottages.co.uk

Situated between the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, with marvellous views from every angle, Thatch Close is the ideal location for a weekend break or a longer stay.

Our home offers a warm welcome to travellers, walkers, fishermen, and tourists from Britain and elsewhere. We take pride in making you feel at home, from the moment of your arrival when you will be greeted with tea and home-baked pastries and throughout your stay.

Thatch Close is ideally situated for exploration of one of the most historically rich and rewarding parts of Britain. Ed and Marian are happy to advise on attractions, activities and routes in the region. Thatch Close offers easy access to the Wye Valley, the Forest of Dean, the Border Castles, Hay on Wye, the Brecon Beacons, Hereford Cathedral and the Mappa Mundi, Offa’s Dyke, and the medieval market town of Monmouth.

Thatch Close has been inhabited since Saxon times. The main house is Georgian with Victorian additions, however the Cottages are much older. Guests are welcome to explore our garden and the fields and footpaths around Thatch Close.

Bird feeding

Although we are located 2 miles from the bustling A40, our home is a quiet haven at the edge of a tranquil village.

Sat nav will probably get confused in our little lanes and lead you to a field gate, so use the map on the contact page for the last couple of miles.

Thatch Close surmounts a quiet valley of the river Garron which is inhabited by a few farmhouses and home to buzzards, owls and badgers.

We are proud to possess the Gold Award for Wildlife Action.

Above all Thatch Close offers a comfortable home away from home. We take pride in our well appointed rooms and our breakfast. Most of our food is locally grown and much is home baked and cooked. Marian serves generous portions of home made jam and preserves, local free-range eggs, and prize-winning local sausages. Fairtrade tea and coffee are available and all efforts are made to use foods from local suppliers and sustainable resources.

For all these reasons many guests become regular visitors. Families with young children are made welcome, and pets can be accommodated too.
